IFC membership readiness is mostly about preparing early. A new financial centre brings new rules, new licences and new expectations, and firms that prepare their entity, controls and capital early are better placed to apply when the framework is ready.
The check scores ten areas: scope of activities, entity and licence, capital, AML and KYC, governance, reporting and audit, substance, tax and incentives, cross-border flows, and dialogue with the authorities. Each answer is worth up to two points, and the result is a score with a prioritised list of preparations.
The centre’s rules and incentives are still developing, so use the result as a preparation plan and confirm the current position before you commit. Read our international financial centre practice, our capital markets practice and check legal texts in the national legal documents database.
